Recalibrate Program

Never Give Up. Never Quit.
Travis Mills Foundation

The mission of the Recalibrate Program is to extend the Travis Mills Foundation’s mission outside the physical walls of the retreat and programming. When recalibrated service members and their families attend the retreat, they experience a barrier-free environment and adaptive activities that they may not otherwise be exposed to. When families return home, these barriers are restored and not always mediated. This program is designed to address physical, social, and financial barriers that recalibrated service members may experience outside of the retreat.

The Travis Mills Foundation introduced the Recalibrate Program in 2022, which capitalizes on a participant’s motivation after attending the Veterans Retreat by providing financial assistance, reducing barriers, and providing 3 month follow ups.

The program has provided everything from installation of electronic and adaptive fitness equipment, a power scooter to increase access in the community, a computer to help with a home business, and even an electric bike to help a veteran stay healthy and active along with his family.

What is the Recalibrate Program?

Since its inception, the Recalibrate Program has served multiple TMF Alumni families. While at the Retreat, veterans and their families engage in adaptive activities tailored to their specific needs. However, maintaining the same motivation at home can be challenging. The Recalibrate Program provides ongoing support.

During the program, Recalibrate participants check-in with the TMF staff who provide motivation for the duration of the program. These check-ins happen at the 3 month mark. This helps to create a connection between the Foundation and the families it serves.
