FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Registration Now Open for the 2026 Travis Mills Foundation Plane Pull
Teams will compete to pull a 70-ton FedEx Boeing 757 across the tarmac at Portland International Jetport, with proceeds supporting recalibrated veterans, first responders, and their families.
ROME, MAINE — Registration is officially open for the 2026 Travis Mills Foundation Plane Pull, presented by Hammond Lumber Company, one of Maine’s premier fundraising events. Teams of coworkers, friends, families, gyms, and community organizations are invited to take on the challenge of pulling a 70-ton FedEx Boeing across the tarmac—all in support of post-9/11 recalibrated veterans, first responders, and their families.
As the Travis Mills Foundation continues to expand its impact and meet the growing demand for its programs, this year’s Plane Pull comes at an exciting time. The Foundation is growing its nationally recognized services while advancing its Warrior PATHH (Progressive & Alternative Training for Helping Heroes) expansion project, which will create a dedicated home for its post-traumatic growth program and allow more veterans and first responders to access the life-changing support they deserve.
Every dollar raised through the Plane Pull helps make that mission possible, supporting Warrior PATHH, adaptive recreation, health and wellness initiatives, and family programming at the Foundation’s nationally recognized campus in Rome, Maine.
The event will take place Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Portland International Jetport. The Plane Pull brings together businesses, organizations, schools, first responders, families, and friends from across New England for a day of teamwork, friendly competition, and purpose.
“The Plane Pull is a powerful reminder of what happens when people come together,” said Travis Mills, retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and founder of the Travis Mills Foundation. “Every team that grabs that rope is helping provide opportunities for healing, growth, and post-traumatic growth for recalibrated veterans and their families.”
Last year’s Plane Pull brought together hundreds of supporters who raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of the Foundation’s mission. This year, organizers are looking to welcome even more teams and sponsors to help fuel the Foundation’s continued growth, expand access to Warrior PATHH, and ensure more recalibrated veterans and first responders can benefit from its programs.
